Brunch at Kramerbooks is fun and a great place to start a weekend morning. The staff at Kramers are nice and attentive despite how busy they get (Sunday brunch after 11 am can be very crowded).
The menu offers a variety of dishes from omelets, pancakes, to excellent home made pork sausages. They are about $14 and up and include drinks such as mimosa and bellini. Kramerbooks' food is average in many respects, quite thoughtful in others (like the sausage and the caviar that comes with some dishes), the portions are large, the dishes are colorful, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice is wonderful.
Now that it is warm (hot) outside, sitting outdoors on the patio is an option. Just keep in mind that spots of shade are few and you could end up sitting in direct sun for the entire time. Sun-lovers and tanners should enjoy such an opportunity. Shade-lovers like me should be seated inside or choose the time (after 12:30 or so) when the shade starts to cover the area to be seated. Either way, it is a great place for brunch, and a DC classic. Being about to browse books while you wait for your table or after eating is a welcome bonus.
