Chocolate Lover’s Guide to Washington DC

:. Best Chocolate in Washington D.C.

I love chocolate. I adore chocolate. I have chocolate everyday, for breakfast, with afternoon tea, and after dinner. I cannot imagine a day without chocolate.

So imagine how little I can afford to waste calories on bad chocolate – I must be highly selective and only consume the most deserving chocolate.

The best chocolate you can get in Washington is from Leonidas, in Georgetown (Wisconsin Avenue near Q Street) or in Downtown (18th and M Street, inside Chocolate Moose). Of course Godiva is great, but I prefer Leonidas. They ship the fresh chocolate from Belgium and you should get them while they are still filled with freshness. They sell their chocolate by the box or by weight. You can ask the store attendant to make a package just for you. Except for very hot summer days, it is best to have them at room temperature.

For chocolate cakes, Dean and Deluca has heavenly selections. I love the chocolate moose cake the best but there are other kinds, too. For birthdays, anniversaries, or whatever excuse you can have, it is a perfect slice of heaven.

For a more simple joy, the chocolate brownies from Marvelous Market are rich, moist and super chocolaty. I try not to walk by Marvelous Market because they are just too tempting. They are that good.

This adventure in seeking the most perfect chocolate is sure to continue. Check in again soon!
