Washington takes its happy hours as seriously as many of its residents
take themselves. It's easy to make dinner our of drink specials
and a few half-price appetizers after work with friends. Where

They serve $4 wines, $3 Sam Adams, and $4 rails. They also put

It was very busy the day I went to the bar, but tables were still available.
The evening I went (Thursday, I think) was steak night, and I enjoyed
a more than acceptable 10 ounce New York strip steak dinner for
only $11.95. Happy hours are 4-7 M-Th and 4-9 Fri. $2.25 domestic
draft beers, $3.25 micro imports and drafts (except, unfortunately,
for Guinness, Harpers, and Bass).

$4 import beers, $5 beef empanadas. "Lima Restaurant and Lounge
has the best happy hour on K Street. They serve cheap drinks,
AMAZING FOOD and even give away free drinks on Thursday. Hands

Cheaper pints of good beer - $2 off small pizzas and $4 martinis.
The location is very central to all metro lines (great spot to
meet up with friends) and the bar has a good atmosphere. The pizzas
are very good! I also like the attention to details: the menus
are long, skinny and wooden. For entertainment while you drink,
sit at the bar and watch the bartender send drinks up to the second
level by placing them in a wooden box tied to a rope and a pulley.

Chef Geoff's has a great beer selection with a Super Mug option
(34 ounces for $7.95), $5 burgers, $8 pizzas and $7 wings. You
can literally get through an entire happy hour on one Super Mug
(and they keep the mugs super frosty so the beer actually stays
cold until the end). This is as close to bottomless beer as I have
ever been. Happy Hour is all night Mondays and Tuesdays. -Visitor

bar. Clientele range from the suited to the khakhied on the August
day I visited. Happy hour features $1 appetizers, including southwest
chicken skewers, portobello mushroom raviolis, ancho chicken taquitos,
falafel with cucumber yogurt sauce, bruscetta with tomato pesto
and provalone, shrimp wontons with soy dipping sauce, and oysters
on the half-shell. $6 premium margaritas and sangria, $3.93 mojitos and
martinis, $4 Heineken and Bohemia, $3 Corona and Miller Light.
