Cheap Eats in Washington DC
Ben's Chili Bowl - Review
1213 U Street NW
Washington, DC 20009
202-667-0909
Ben's Chili Bowl is a DC institution, which just celebrated its 50th birthday. Go late after an evening of Jazz on U Street or for Saturday lunch. Hope that the speakers of boom will be belting out some solid funk. Known locally and nationally for its chili half-smokes, chili dogs, milkshakes, we most love the chili cheeseburger. Only Bill Cosby (and now Obama) eats free they like to say.

Moby Dick House of Kebab - Review
1070 31st Street Georgetown
Washington, DC 20007
202-333-4400
Known as a reasonably-priced local Middle Eastern favorite, it has since spread to several DC metro area locations, all of which serve a mostly standard menu. What makes Moby Dick's popular among locals is simply its almost perfected focus on all things kebabs. Beef, lamb and chicken combinations make up the meal options, though less popular vegetarian and seafood kebab options are also offered.
The Diner in Adam's Morgan
(Diner, Adams Morgan)2459 18th Street NW
Washington, DC 20009
202-232-5500
DC does not have as many diners open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as it should. This is one of them. Plus, it has a bar! Waits can be long for late morning breakfast and brunch on the weekends. The Diner is where you stave off that hangover after partying too hard on 18th Street by having pancakes, sausage, and eggs at 3:30 AM.
Zorba's Cafe - Review

Washington, DC 20009

Casual, family-owned Greek restaurant. All food is prepared from scratch on-site. Only fresh and wholesome ingredients are used. Reasonably priced gyros and platters.
