Il Mulino - Review

(Italian, off Thomas Circle)
1110 Vermont Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20005
202-293-1001
From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like royalty. With just one main dining room, Il Mulino feels quaint and intimate, while the décor and lighting adds to the ambiance. A plate with olive-oil-fried zucchini and thin sliced pepperoni is the first to grace your palate. Soon after a basket of fresh baked bread arrives and a small block of parmesan cheese is offered. Luigi's Famous

(Italian, Midtown)
1132 19th Street
Washington, DC 20036
202-331-7574
Since 1943, Luigi's has been famous for serving its excellent pizza to Washington. They also offer pastas ranging from rich to the lighter side. The calamari cooked in tomato sauce is excellent. They offer banquet services for large parties. Sometimes only Luigi's will do.

Sette Osteria - Review

Sette Osteria
(Italian, Dupont Circle)

Washington, DC 20009
202-483-3070
Sister restaurant of Café Milano, this modern-Italian style eatery just north of Dupont Circle has an open kitchen and offers seven varieties of pizza from wood-fired ovens and an array of traditional Italian and vegetarian dishes. Sette Osteria has a comfortable and well-stocked bar -- you can watch sports and CNN on one of the several high-mounted flat screens while you wait for your friends to arrive.
