Kazan Restaurant - Review

(Turkish, McLean)
6813 Redmond Drive (Chain Bridge Rd.), McLean Shopping Center
McLean, VA 22101
703-734-1960
Tucked away within a shopping center in McLean, Virginia, Turkish treasure Kazan Restaurant is one of those places that could easily be passed by, but don't! The service is attentive and friendly and the food is outstanding Favorites include the Kazan Meze Special, Anatolian Chicken, and Orange Baklava.

Lebanese Taverna - Review

(Lebanese, Zoo/Woodley Park)
2641 Connecticut Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20008
202-265-8681
A great place for Lebanese Cuisine in the cozy Woodley Park Neighborhood near the National Zoo. The spacious, ornate interior is cast in a calming light. Many vegetarian options among the mezza dishes. A variety of eggplant and kabob and other generously portioned entrees are available.

Moby Dick House of Kebab - Review

Moby Dick House of Kebab
(Kabob, Georgetown Harbor)
1070 31st Street Georgetown
Washington, DC 20007
202-333-4400
Known as a reasonably-priced local Middle Eastern favorite, it has since spread to several DC metro area locations, all of which serve a mostly standard menu. What makes Moby Dick's popular among locals is simply its almost perfected focus on all things kebabs. Beef, lamb and chicken combinations make up the meal options, though less popular vegetarian and seafood kebab options are also offered.

Neyla - Review

(Mediterranean, Georgetown, N and Wisconsin)
3206 N Street NW
Washington, DC 20007
202-333-6353
Tucked away off of the bustling streets of M St. in Georgetown, this trendy restaurant has it all; ambiance, cocktails, and great food. The braised lamb is served with an eggplant puree and manchego cheese, which makes a perfect sharp and slightly tangy accompaniment to the succulent lamb.

Zaytinya

(Greek/Turkish/Lebanese, Penn Quarter)
701 9th Street NW
Washington, DC 20004
202-638-0800
Zaytinya has a great bar scene, which figures as you often need to wait quite a while for a table - this popular tapas (or mezze) spot now takes reservations on a limited basis. But the dishes of DC's celebrity chef Jose Andres make it worth the wait. Come for the food and lively scene - not for convivial conversation since that will be difficult given the noise.
