Kaz Sushi Bistro

(Japanese, Farrugut West Metro)
1915 Eye St NW

Authentic traditional and modern Japanese cuisine with innovative touches and artistic presentation. Kaz Sushi Bistro is one of the top places for Sushi in DC. Kaz original dishes include Spicy Broiled NZ Green Mussels. For an entrée, the Asian Style Tender Short Rib and Tempura Bento Box is excellent.

Kinkead's

(American Brasserie, Foggy Bottom GWU Metro)

A longtime top spot in DC, Kinkead's specializes in seafood with items such as char-grilled squid with tomato confit, grilled skate with veal, and rockfish with artichokes. A pianist plays jazz during happy hour. The bar (and raw bar) is a popular meeting spot for World Bank, IMF, and executive branch employees.

Luigi's Famous

(Italian, Midtown)

Since 1943, Luigi's has been famous for serving its excellent pizza to Washington. They also offer pastas ranging from rich to the lighter side. The calamari cooked in tomato sauce is excellent. They offer banquet services for large parties. Sometimes only Luigi's will do.

Malaysian Kopitam

(Malaysian, Farragut North)
1827 M St NW
Washington, DC 20036
202-833-6232
Their cuisine combines Malay, Chinese, and Indian flavors. For appetizers, try the light Po Piah crepe and the stewed jicama with hoisin and chili sauce. Their benchmark Satay comes with four skewers of chicken, beef, lamb or pork served with sauce, cucumber and fresh onion. Their roti canai and roti wrap, showing the Indian influence is a favorite. They also feature a Chinese noodle dishes. All this at at reasonable prices, with friendly service.

Morton's Steak House

(Steakhouse, Dupont Circle)
1050 Connecticut Ave NW Ste 2
Washington, DC 20036
202-955-5997
Morton's The Steakhouse may be a classic steakhouse with all the usual accompaniments: big, hearty entrees, enormous side orders of baked potatoes and creamed spinach and classic wines and cocktails to play along. But above the hustle and bustle of Connecticut Avenue is where you'll find DC's Morton's complete with a charming outdoor patio and the usual great service with a smile.

Panache - Review

Panache
(Mediterranean/French/Spanish, Midtown)
1725 DeSales Street NW
Washington, DC 20036
202-293-7760
Panache Restaurant has a great location in the Midtown District on a side street off Connecticut near the Mayflower Hotel. Cosy up with your group of freinds in the large plush oval booths to share tapas like blackened Norwegian salmon and shrimp with garlic. They have a lively happy hour with drink specials every day.

Prime Rib - Review

(Steakhouse/Prime Rib, Midtown)
2020 K Street NW
Washington, DC 20006
202-466-8811
The Prime Rib is everything that a high-end steakhouse should be -- dark wood-paneled walls, service staff in tuxedos, large portions of meat, classic side dishes, and cigar smoking permitted at the bar. Both the roast prime rib and prime rib steak are delicious and perfectly prepared. The menu also offers extensive seafood dishes including crab imperial, which is rich and satisfying.

Vidalia

(New Southern, Midtown)
1990 M Street NW
Washington, DC 20036
202-659-1990
Great American food with a Southern emphasis. Don't ruin your appetite with the Vidalia onion foccacia and the sweet corn muffins they bring when you sit down. Venison and pork jowel make frequent appearances on the seasonally changing menu, but the shrimp and grits with chorizo are a staple. Private rooms/banquet hall available.
