Woodley Park in northwest Washington D.C. is a perfect little neighborhood
to visit for lunch or dinner. Both sides of Connecticut Avenue
offer enticing sidewalk seating, with umbrellas for shade. In the
middle of the block sits the Lebanese Taverna. It’s spacious interior
is rather ornate with calming, light settings. The menu offers
a large variety of small dishes (Mezza), for about $4 to $8, with
many choices for vegetarians as well as meat-lovers. With a large
group of friends, sharing Mezza dishes would be great fun.
The entrée menu is also extensive, for about $12 to $18, from great
Eggplant dishes to a variety of Kabob dishes. The portions are
generous for entrées so both Mezza and an entrée may be too much
food to handle for some people. The service staff at Lebanese Taverna
are polite, friendly, and helpful. A great place to enjoy Lebanese
